District 56

2011-2012

District 56 is planning on helping build many new clubs before the end of this Toastmaster Year! We are also in the club and the member retention business!

How are we going to accomplish these goals?

With your help of course.  We have many Toastmasters within District 56 who are currently working towards growing the District and supporting struggling Clubs.  You can also join the marketing team to contribute to these goals of chartering those new Clubs and to help revitalize Clubs. Send me an email at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. to learn how you can help. The best part, by helping the District you are gaining credit towards your Advanced Leader Silver (AL-S).

Did I hear you say what would you be able to do to help District 56?

If you are sitting at your computer, reading this message, you are able to do this!

Shockingly enough, District 56 has a large number of low-member clubs. We have a difficult time in retaining members within many of those clubs. You can help us help these clubs and at the same time gain your AL-S! This is your opportunity to use your Toastmasters skills to coach a club back to charter strength and excellence. Certain conditions apply, email me at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. to sign up as a club coach for a club with less than 13 members.

For those clubs between 13 and 19 members, we have the Adopt-a-Club program in place to have larger clubs adopt smaller clubs to help them become energized and fruitful in bringing in new members!  The adoptive parent club would visit the smaller clubs on a regular basis and fill roles when needed to give a full agenda for the meeting.

These are wonderful programs!

Needed are the Toastmasters to fill the roles of Adoptive parent clubs and fill the roles of Club Coaches!

Remember those new clubs which the LGM is currently building?

First of all, she needs help to build more new clubs! Second, Toastmasters are needed who will fill roles as mentors of those new baby clubs. Think back to the time when you became a new baby Toastmaster and think of the reasons why you joined that one home club of yours. Many of you wanted to learn how to communicate with others.  Some joined in order to fulfill a job requirement. Others were tricked into becoming a Toastmaster, as was I!

Yes, those of you who do not know my story, I had lost my sight as a result of a fall.  I had been an educator and was outgoing and quite talkative.  After my accident, I regressed into a non-communicative, happy, hermit, withdrawn from society.

My sweet husband talked me into becoming a Toastmaster.

I now have a passion for sharing this organization with as many others as possible.  Why do I share it?  It literally saved my life!  I would still be in a semi-comotose state if I had not been able to speak in an encouraging environment  of fellow Toastmasters who would listen to my story and give feedback to what I could now do with my life.  Things had changed drastically for me in a split second; however, I now had a new goal.  I wanted to help others find that same connection Toastmasters had given to me, so I now am in a position to build clubs and help retain members and give back to others what Toastmasters has given to me.

Am I passionate about Toastmasters?  Yes I am.  Will it help others the way it has helped me?  Yes it will.  I truly have no doubt about this.  I am challenging you to go out and spread the word about Toastmasters and what it has done for us!

Let District 56 make a difference in the lives of others!

Help me form new clubs, retain members and help people with their speaking skills and with their lives!
